The story Of Inuyasha Thus Far. *takes deep breath* Damn, this'll be a long one...
A long time ago, in Sengoku Jidai, Inuyasha tried to steal the Sacred Shikon Jewel ( Shikon no tama ), a magic item that could tenfold a demons strength and powers if one should ever get a hold of it. Kikyou, the Miko who protected the village and jewel from Youkai, shot the Hanyou Inuyasha with her sacred arrow, leaving him pinned to a tree in a trance like state for fifty years...
Kikyou died that day, from a severe wound to her shoulder, and took the Sacred Jewel alone with her.
Fast Forward 400 years.
Higurashi Kagome was getting ready to go to school, when her brother alerted her that their cat had wandered off into the well house. Upon entering, Kagome gets pulled magically through the well, and transported back 400 years into the past.
Kagome ends up freeing Inuyasha from his enchanted sleep, and he ends up mistaking her for Kikyou, whom she greatly resembles. Kagome's response....
"MY NAME IS KAGOME! KA-GO-ME!" (Watashi wa Kagome! Ka-Go-Me!)
And, just to muddle things up more, it is discovered that the Shikon No Tama is actually inside Kagome's body, proving one thing. No, not another case for Mulder & Scully. It was realized that Kagome was actually the Reincarnation of the long dead Priestess Kikyou, and that she has special powers to see the Jewels power/aura.
But of course, every show has to have Humor, and here it comes.
"OSUWARI!"
"BITCH!" *splat*
Kaede, being the ever so clever sister of the dead Kikyou that she was, bound Inuyasha to Kagome with a magical rosary. All Kagome has to do is say the magic word....and no, it's not please.
At first, Inuyasha is unwilling to reclaim the jewel with Kagome, but as things get more complicated....such as, Kagome trying to save a little boys life, and ending up shattering the jewel..... He really has no choice.
Now, Kagome and Inuyasha cross the length of Japan, looking for jewel shards. But, on their way, They Met up with Shippou- a young Kitsune who loves to get on Inuyasha's nerves, Miroku- a perverted Buddhist monk with an Air rip in his right hand,And Sango- a proffessional Youkai Taiji-ya from the village where the Shikon no Tama was born.
But later on in the series, we found out there's a little mmore to the story of Inuyahsa and Kikyou than Inuyasha' let's on. It turns out, he even Loved the Lovely Miko, and was even considering to use the Jewel to become a human for her, instead of the full fledged demon that he had wanted to be in the first place.
But, they then got Screwed over by Naraku, who selfishly wanted to have Kikyou all to himself in his previous life as Onigumo. Onigumo/Naraku betrayed Inuyasha and Kikyou, by disquising himself as both Inuyasha and Kikyou, and doing horrible things thereafter.
Oh, how quickly we turn against aeachother...
Insert Inuyasha getting pinned to a tree, and Kikyou dying.
Later on, there are some hints that inuyasha may be developing feelings for kikyou's reincarnation, Kagome. But, as I said before, things end up getting muddled again as an evil witch Uresuie decides to go play 'bring back the priestess from the dead'. And that's exactly what happens. Kikyou is revived, but with one minor flaw...
Since Kagome is Kikyou's reincarnation, and in the same time period as Kikyou, Kikyou is unable to retain her soul. Uresuie soon relizes this, and captures Kagome, while her, Inuyasha, Shippou, and Kaede had been searching for the stolen priestesses remains.
But, Kagome's soul creates a barrier when uresuie tries to release it. Kikyou did not want to come back to 'The world of which she hated so much'. But, then Inuyasha comes in, see's Kikyou's clay body...and...
"...Kikyou...." Boom. Bye Bye Kagome's soul, hello newly revived Kikyou.
"Inuyasha....Why did you betray me, Inuyasha?!" And Insert another plot twist.
"I didn't betray You, Kikyou! You betrayed me!"
"Liar!"
Wooh, Cat fight. Or, rather Dog/Miko fight. Kikyou ended up trying to shoot Inuyasha with her arrow again. This didn't work to well, as Kagome entered the scene.
Since it was originally supposed to Be Kagome's soul, and that Kikyou was supposed to be dead, most of Kagome's soul returned to her, leaving Kikyou weak and tumbly.
But, Kikyou obviously wasn't giving up, and tried to hit Inuyasha one last time, but ended up falling backwards off of a cliff. Inuyahsa tried to help her, but she slipped from his grasp, down into some waterfall.
Since then, Inuyasha has built large conflicting emotions between Kagome and Kikyou.
Who will he end up choosing in the end...?
